At My Speechie
We make speaking fun & interactive
Amanda has worked continuously since 1985 as a clinician and team leader in a variety of paediatric education, health, disability and private settings over her long career, specialising in early intervention, stuttering, paediatric feeding, behaviour management and parent-child interaction. She is trained in the Lidcombe program, Triple P parenting program, SOS Approach to Feeding, and Hanen ® programs of Target Word, It Takes Two to Talk, and More than Words. She is a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist and a Member of Speech Pathology Australia.
We use formal and informal assessment tools to conduct a thorough assessment of your young child’s feeding and/or communication needs, looking holistically at the child’s life across a range of settings. We also adopt a family-centred approach to service delivery, and understand that parents are a child’s most important teacher, working alongside parents, family members, health professionals, support workers and early childhood educators to provide high quality assessments and therapeutic interventions.
We bring the fun of communicating and eating to you. With over 30 years of specialised child and infant speech therapy experience we know how to get results and have fun doing it. We take time to build rapport, understand your challenges and set meaningful goals.
Once we meet face-to-face or via telehealth we take time to get to know you and your child. My Speechie understands the importance of closely listening to parents’ and caregivers’ concerns, and gathering information from a variety of sources to gain a clear and nuanced picture of your child, your family, and their unique needs.
